• Maseno Minute – Happy 2019 from the Pad Project!

It has been a quite a year for us, full of blessings and growth.  We are so thankful for the faithful service of 29 sewing teams and individuals across the US, Japan, and Europe.  Together we made 3,043 pads sets that went to girls and women in 14 different countries!  That’s 3,043 girls who were able to stay in school after starting their period, girls who were given an alternative to prostitution to meet some of their basic needs, women who are able to better care for themselves and their families, girls who were given more independence and a chance at a brighter future.  You helped make a direct and lasting impact on the lives of 3,043 girls around the world. Thank you!

For those of you new to the idea of reusable maxi pads, here’s something to think about.  What if you couldn’t leave your house while on your period because you didn’t have any sanitary supplies to manage your period?  How much of your life would change?  You couldn’t stay in school when you missed a quarter of all the classes.   You couldn’t keep a job when you missed a week out of every month.  You couldn’t buy groceries to feed your kids that week.  Periods can be a bother when you live in a first world country, but in a third world country it’s on a whole different scale.
